Cell is more an Excel term
Is this Access
Do you mean field or textbox?
Is it a single form or continuous?

Yes - head on down to the bottom of the page.  Click on Access Index.
Do a find (Ctrl-F) for backcolor.  There are multiple references on changing it.

Hello Guys,
It is access. Not a field or text box on a form but a cell in a table or cross tab query. i would like to be able to change font color and back color based on a particular status.

As Alex mentioned above - Access doesn't have cells.  It has records and fields.
That said check out the Conditional Formatting video.

We aren't being grumps but words matter.  If we aren't speaking the same terminology then it leads to confusion.
If the video above doesn't do what you need the perhaps  you can post a screen shot or two showing us exactly what you want to do. Upload link is in you original post. Snip & Sketch
Be as specific as you can.

Joe... naughty, naughty. You used the "c" word when talking about Access. LOL. But yeah, you really can't change a specific field's properties in a TABLE or QUERY. They're not designed to be formatted like that. Like grumpy Scott said (giggle) you should use a continuous form with conditional formatting. :)

LOL! My mistake. for the record did not think anyone was being grumpy just figured i was doing a poor job explaining what I was trying to do. My wife tells me that all the time and she is never wrong. Was putting up outside Christmas lights all day today and will finish them tomorrow. On Monday I will look into the issue further and try to explain it better. As always everyone's help is very much appreciated. :)

Ha ha. Usually I'm the grumpy one... before coffee, that is. Afterwards I'm just a ray of sunshine. :)

Hello Guys - Sorry for the delay, however I finally figured out what they were doing. They are actually setting the the color of the text in the field based on the appointments status within the Query itself. I will be able to set the Style of the text the same way, basically highlighting it, to better show its status at a glance. It will work for now. Again everyone's help is very much appreciated.

Well I have to tell you I'm flummoxed at that one.  I've never seen that in a query before.
New one for me.
