Error 3045

Hello,

I have a split DB at work.  The BackEnd lives in the server and everyone has a copy of the FrontEnd on their local machines.  Everything had been working just fine for 2 years until yesterday we started getting Error 3045 Could not use 'path & BackEnd';file already in use.  I checked everything that I could think of and I'm still getting this error.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Does anyone know a workaround?  Thank you in advance.

Yes!  Just had this same issue yesterday.  In my case, the back end server has its own front end file as well.  The problem was resolved by deleting the linked tables in the front end file on the server and then re-linking them.  Problem solved.  Not sure why, but for some reason when the front end was running on the server, it was locking the back end file and threw that error message to other users.  By deleting the linked tables in the front end and re-linking, whatever was causing the problem disappeared.
If for some reason that does not work for you, you might try closing Access on the server.  I did that while I was fumbling around trying to fix it and by doing so, the problem went away for the other users.  The will still have access to the back end file on the server.

Did Microsoft Updates and everything is back to normal.  Thank you all.
