I intend to create a column in an access table where number values such as 3.78 or 4.45 need to be entered. But for some reason the table rounds them up to the next highest integer and I end up having 4 or 5. I have set the column to be a number column and have tried every possible combination in the design view of the table. From decimal in field size to double and from General number in Format to fixed. What am I doing wrong?

If you've got the data type set to NUMBER and it's a DECIMAL, SINGLE, or DOUBLE, then you should be able to store fractional numbers. Do you perhaps have a format on that's only displaying them with no digits?

Have you tried creating a NEW field and see if this same problem happens? Also try a whole new database file. Perhaps it's a glitch in your database.
