Database Reports
Don

I am a one day a year user of Access 2000. Long ago I created a set of four reports that I run once a year to print hard copy data reports. I want to know if there is a way I can transfer only the report sets themselves to someone else so they can use the reports in their database which is based on the same database but only more current. Over the last three years I have had them send me their database and I have copied and pasted the newer data to my database. Then I have run the reports. I know I could just send them my updated version that contains the reports, but I would rather just sent them the reports to import into their current database. Under the the Database Window dialogue I can right mouse click and export or send to a mail recipient but I am not sure if that is what to do and what in turn they will get by doing so. Can you advise?

Answer from Richard Rost:

If you want to send them just a specific set of data, I would recommend using a MAKE TABLE QUERY which would allow you to isolate just the data you want and put it in a separate table. You could then just export this data to them and send them any needed objects with it in a separate database file (like reports and such).

The step-by-step creation of a Make-Table query is not incredibly hard, but it would take me a while to explain it here. I do cover it in my Access 222 course:
