All depends which hosting service you use and what level of service you have.
Most hosting services have an ability to add additional storage space for a fee.

Ok, so just to understand winhost, the sql server is on that site, and then you upload your backend tables?
What does 10Gb SQL mean, is that the allowable backend size for the tables or is that unlimited?

WinHost is just the ISP that Richard uses.  Your Internet Service Provider may have different plans.

You would need to talk with the company you contract with to provide you the details of their services.

the 10 Gigabite in their ad above I'm assuming  is just the limit for the SQL file.  The front end is on your side so would not apply to that limit.

Kim, I use Winhost for my web hosting which includes SQL Server. I have the Ultimate plan, which includes 5 GB for SQL Server and that's MORE than enough. My entire site is powered off the database - the user accounts AND most of the actual web pages. I'm only using about 100 MB of total space. That max size is for the whole database (you get one database, unlimited number of tables, up to 5 GB in size, which is plenty). I do have my videos and file downloads hosted by a different company (Wasabi). Why? Long story. But most people don't have to worry about hosting as much video as I do.

You could also have your web site with one provider, and then use a different provider for your databases. There are services out there like AWS or Microsoft Azure. They're a little more expensive, but they may provide different services for you. I'm very happy with what I've got.

My reason for asking is that im building A database for the company i work at, A fabrication company. When we get an order, A lot of drawings in pdt following, and I would love to have these store in the database, also when we buy steel, i fuld like to store the certeficates in the database. But that takes up A lot of space. I have lokkede at MS Azure, but I cant figurer out if that support attachments or OLE objects, and how much i can store, or how i can do this. Preferable wold be that you can click on the file while working in the database, and print from there.

Sounds good, but I strongly recommend you don't store images and other files in your database. See: Images

In my case, I have an image upload available (see "upload images" at the top of the thread) where users can upload files and they're stored on the web server, and just a REFERENCE to the file location is stored in the database.
