Table With Too Many Fields
Dwayne Ham

What is the best way to split up a table into a 2nd table because there are too many fields. I know you have a video on it but just can't locate it.  I believe it is your ordersT and orderdetailsT.  Thx

I don't think I have EVER hit a limit on fields.  I know there is one (255), but that is not commonly the cause of the error.

First how many do you have?  If more that the 255 limit you probably need to look at normalizing your data and splitting tables off into related entities.  That is covered starting in Expert Level 2.

Microsoft Too Many Fields Error

OrderT to OrderDetailT isn't splitting up one table because it has too many fields. That's two separate, related bits of information (the order info vs. the line item detail info). What it sounds like you're talking about is additional information for the same bit of data - like extra customer info. I cover that in Access Expert 4.
