I am a beginner, using Access 2007.  I am trying to create a network documentation database to track desktops, printers, switches, etc.  I am trying to setup the tables and not sure how to setup a field or multiple fields to show the current location of an asset, along with all previous locations (building, room and jack numbers including dates associated with the former locations).  What is your recommendation?

Answer from Richard Rost:

This would be a two-table setup. You have the primary table for the asset, and then a second, related table to show the history of the asset. The history item with the most recent date would be the current location of the asset.

It sounds to me like you need to learn a little more about the basic concepts of building a Relational Database, and making relationships between two tables.
