Hi,

I am doing something wrong. I have a date added field as date 01/01/2021 but I only want to see the date as 2021 being the year added, I am not interested in the months or days.

I either get short date or long date or general date but i have defaulted "yyyy" but get error messages when saving form. Ive deleted the column data and when enter date i have date and time. Im probably not doing something simple.

Ive looked at section 27 and 28 and fear im doing something wrong.

You'll need to set the Data Type to Number not Date/Time if you only want the year.

The other alternative is to leave it as a date and just use format to display only the year - using yyyy. That way should you ever want to have the full date it is available.

Right, but then you still always have to type in a valid date even if you only want the year. Like 1/1/2000.

Hi, Im still going wrong as I enter a date as 01/01/2022 and YYYY appears in the entry field.
