Are you still able to make any changes to the data in the table? Or can you go up and change the format to white or some other color?

Take a look at the formatting of the Datasheet.
Open one up then look at pic below.

Is it this way in a blank new db?

Go to Access Options --- Datasheet Tab --- Set Default cell effect to Flat.

Thanks guys, I had to host a nonprofit fund raiser , I was not ignoring your appreciated support.  The format is on all files, and new ones, so I am going to try Kevin's suggestion as it seems to be a global response.  AND that is the ticket....thank you
