I'm trying to calculate a field between form and sub-form.  By taking the value from form.field and subtract it from a sub-form field.  Is this possible?

Actually I need to do CurrentStockPrice - (IRATotalPrice / QtyTotal)

You've almost got it. You just need the full name of the field on the parent form.
=Forms![YourFormName]!CurrentStockPrice - (IRATotalPrice / QtyTotal)
