Allow Additions

Just came across a weird situation in my database. I set AllowAdditions to No in the property sheet, opened up my form via a button and I was still able to add new records. I had to set it in code in the OnOpen event to prevent additions.

Must be a bug.

I don't get that, Kevin. If I set Allow Additions to NO in the form's properties, and I open the form with just a regular button call:

DoCmd.OpenForm "CustomerF"

Then I'm not able to add new records. However, if I specifically state that I want to open the form in acFormAdd mode, then yes, that will overwrite the form's settings, as VBA usually does.

DoCmd.OpenForm "CustomerF", , , , acFormAdd

And, Dan, Access 2022 is coming either way! Although at this rate it will probably be 2023. :)
