Linking Forms with SQL

Dear Mr. Rost
Thanks for all the videos and classes, you make it easy to follow along. Im following an event enrollment extended video to set up a students courses with a modal form for teacher contacts. All the forms work the issue is getting it to only show the contact for a specific course.  The nested subform in the StudentDetailF is the StudentXClassF form (built from the junction table). This is the course information with an auto number labeled StudentXClassID .  The contact table is linked to the junction table with the StudentXClassID (number). When I click a course, then click on the contact button the contact form pops up, however it shows all the contacts. They are not differentiated to the ones with the same StudentXClassID.  In addition, Im trying to autofill the StudentXClassID number in the contact form using the SQL from the video it also isnt working correctly.  I thought I had followed all your examples and Im sure it is something simple that I am missing, please help. Thanks for everything!

In your second image there are too many quotes.

DoCmd.OpenForm "ContactF",,, "StudentXClassID=" & StudentXClassID

Thank you for that information, I have adjusted that information and playing with it to make sure it works properly.  When the ContactF is opened it should display the StudentXClassID, from the SQL build, however it doesn't fill in the StudentXClassID number I have to manually do it. This information is in the 1st picture.

I see from image one you start the expression with =[Form]. Change this to =[Forms].
See Value From A Form.
Also Default Value.
