Combo Box Issue
Irene Tumulac

Hello Richard and all,
I desperately need help.  This is a simple issue but somehow I couldnt get it work.  I created this form with combo box.  The combo box has name and company name but when I try to create a new record, it is not allowing me to type anything in the combo box to pick any name.  It seems block.  I attached the pictures so you understand what I'm talking about.  I've created this same form before without any issue but this time, I'm not really sure what I did wrong.  Please help.  Thank you

Irene check the Enabled or Locked properties.
Both for the form and for your Combo Box control.

It looks like a problem with the query the combo box is based on. In the second image it says (New).
I think the recordset is Not Updateable.

It would only say (New) like that if the field were bound to an AutoNumber.

Richard,
What do you mean because I still cannot figure out what's wrong with it.  I tried different ways.

What field is the combo box bound to? It's Control Source property? Is that an AutoNumber?

Yes it is.  Control Source property is an AutoNumber.  Is that the reason why it is not updatable?

Can you change an autonumber?

I changed and messed with an autonumber, and my form works!  Thanks for your help Richard!
