I have a well-functioning report that has as its left column the date that a food pantry visitor has last picked up food, from earliest to lasted occurrence.  The report is populated after start and end dates are entered.  Although I'm relatively new Access user, I've now been tasked with providing a report with the same info but with the left column populated and sorted by visitor last name, the purpose being to more easily identify those who have visited more than once during the reporting period.  I've constructed a new query and report to do this with the lead field being Last Name and the sort on this field selected as ascending.  But when I produce the new report, it is still being sorted chronologically by visit date, not last name.  What am I doing wrong?
