32Bit Version Error ACCDE
Katherine Bradshaw

I just split my database, and it appears to work fine on two of the computers in our office (the one I've been working on, plus one other). On the third computer, when I try to open the frontend accde file, it won't open and I get this message:

This database was created with the 32-bit version of Microsoft Access. Please open it with the 32-bit version of Microsoft Access.

We are using three Office365 licenses, so I don't understand why that one computer would be different.

I tried searching "32 bit" on this site and online, but I only found stuff for high-skill-level programmers.

Is this something I can fix myself somehow? I'm kind of scared that the database I have built is maybe incompatible with the future?

You just need to uninstall your office on that machine and re-install the 32 bit version. I think 64bit is the default offered on the site but you can pick that you want to download the 32 bit instead. All will work well then after that switch.

If you login to your office account you should be able to see that install office button, click the arrow and click other install options, click all apps, and you can select which version to install

Thanks, Adam! An easy fix (provided I can find the passwords and such!)
