Great Idea! by the way, however all was good but I ran into a little snag. The snag is I needed to add a wild card * to my SQL statement. Here is what I ended up with.

SELECT ToolDataT.ID, ToolDataT.AFTO FROM ToolDataT WHERE (((ToolDataT.AFTO) Like [text142] & " * "))

Now here is where it gets weird, this statement works fine if I type in a letter and hit "refresh all" from the menu. Now if I place this in a VB script,

List113.RowSource = "SELECT ToolDataT.ID, ToolDataT.AFTO FROM ToolDataT WHERE (((ToolDataT.AFTO) Like [text142] & " * "))"

It debugs out. If I reverse the two and keep the SQL in the listbox and add a form.refresh command to my keypress statment it only allows me to enter 1 letter and wipes anything I previously typed out. If I remove the " * " from the statement it doesn't  debug out however the listbox doesn't operate properly too.

My work around was just to add a submit button, that works fine but thought I would share this to see if there was something obvious that I was doing wrong. Thanks again for your help!!

I can't see anything wrong with what you've done. Like I said, I'd have to set it up and play with it to figure out a better solution for you. When I get some free time I'll see what I can do.
