Locking a form for input

I am missing one very simple and obvious thing in the Simple Security video. When a user is looking at the data on the form, it is still possible to change a record by just typing something into a field on the form, and this change will be saved in the table. This seems to be posssible even if it is saved as .accde.

I am worried that some user might accidentally change data on the form (e.g. when trying to do a search). So I would like to lock it to prevent this. How can I do that?

(Working with a database for old photos for a local history society, which will be used by many persons.)

Dag -
It is possible to set a form up so that it is view only through the form properties.
The Allow Additions, Allow Deletions, and Allow Edits is covered beginning in Beginner 7

It is also possible to set up where only certain people can edit or add records.
That is covered through out the courses and in depth in the full Security Seminar.

The user level security would require quite a bit of programming.  Beyond what I see your knowledge level is based on the courses you have.  If you have experience outside of the courses here,  you could definitely get it accomplished.
