Multiple Table Relationships
Leticia Santiago

I have a question regarding relationships. I have 11 tables built. They each serve their own purpose, but when trying to run queries there are no relationships built. So far, I have followed the videos in Beginners 1 & 2 and have built tables, and am manually tying the tables together by adding the foreign keys to each table. However, each table needs to be tied to one main table, and I also wondered how to get the employees table to link to the other relationships without having to reenter each employee multiple times.

I hope I am making sense! Anyway, I appreciate the guidance and look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Leticia,

Welcome to the team. I can see you are just starting off. Rick covers the basics of relationships in Expert level 1. If possible, I wouldn't delve too much into it before then because a lot of what you learn now will become redundant as you progress. That said, if you are anything like me, you're not holding back!!!

If you want to learn about relationships early, there is a tech help video here
Relationships - https://599cd.com/blog/display-article.asp?ID=1724

It's fun to try stuff out but I can highly recommend pacing yourself in the beginning so you only pick up the right way to do things.

Hi Leticia. Like Dan suggested, watch the Relationships video, and you're a Platinum member, so I'd recommend watching all of the Beginner lessons and Expert 1 and 2, which are part of your membership perks. Then once you're done with those, come back and ask your question again. This way I can be sure you properly understand relationships. It would also be handy for us to see a screen shot of your tables and the relationships you've set up between them.
