I hope this helps someone else... I have a split DB with backend tables on a remote server and a speedy laptop.

When I'm developing over a remote connection, I have discovered it is best to close a form and reopen it in the desired view, rather than right-clicking to switch between form and design view.

The right-click method can be painfully slow in my experience, and appears to be true regardless of the form elements and/or underlying data.

I should add that I have a gigabit internet connection from home (where I'm currently working on the DB). I was able to watch at least two minutes of one of your videos this morning while waiting for my main menu form to switch views via the right-click method. I've had similar problems previously, and decided to opening a form in design view and it opened right up. I then closed my main menu form and reopened it in design view, and it also popped right up. Forms with less "stuff" may load faster, but still slower than if you close and reopen in the desired view.

My assumption is that this is due to the remote tables, since I don't experience this at all when I am in the office.
