color coding a report

I need to color-code a report -
i do know about conditional formatting in reports - use that all the time.

But in this case, i don't think the conditional formatting would work for me,
as it would involve a little too much work, over time.

Here's the scenario - we have "Sales Orders"
Each Sales Order number has a certain amount of tickets,
currently printed in MS-Word,  I want to the tickets via an Access Report instead.
Each Sales Order # gets a specific color
Sales Order 1234 might be pink,
Sales order 1235 might be yellow, etc etc.

anyway, i don't want to have to create a conditional formatting in a report
every time a new Sales Order number gets generated.

What do you mean by specific color? How many colors are there going to be? Eventually you'll run outve colors. To me I think you could just do conditional formatting if the number ends in 0, its red, 1 and its pink, 2 and its yellow etc... up to 9 if you can limit it to just 10 colors that alternate every 10

If you want fewer colors its even easier too but not sure how many you have
