Hi,

I'm trying to link data from one subform to another and struggling.

When I'm on my customer form I have all the locks they own on a subform. I have a button for the full details but a subform showing the bits I would need to see daily rather than all the data. The data is stored in a separate table for the customer. I also have another table showing the key history, this is all the keys they have from me and is linked via the Cylinder ID field. This is set up like Richards customers contacts from Experts 3 and is a subform again on the contact form.

The trouble I'm having is it's only showing me data from the first lock and not any other. When I click on someone's second or third lock the data stays the same. If I choose a customer without any key history the subform changes to a new entry.

Would be great if anyone could help.

Could be a few things, do you have more records shown on the navigation bar at the bottom of the subform? In the property sheet of the subform is Link Master Fields and Link Child Fields set to your relationship ID?

My first thought was that if you are seeing only one record is, did you set the SubForm to continuous form? It will only show one record if it is a single form. Default View under the Format tab on the SubForms Form properties.

Thanks for the replies,

Yes, there are other records that show when on that customer.
The problem is with the people who have more than one lock or item, all I can see all the history for the first items but nothing for any of the others. I hope to be able to select the item from a subform and then see all that history in another subform.
But maybe I'm trying to be to clever for my own good.

I have checked the master and child links and they are the same.

Yes, the form is set to a continuous form, will check the default view.

When you select a record in the first Subform you will need to requery the second. You can do this in the OnCurrent Event. Also see Value From a Form on how to reference a subform.

Thanks Kevin The first form works fine, so hopefully the event video will be the missing part. Will watch those and let you know how I get on. Appreciate the help
