I have a table that stores the number of beds avaiable for a property. Each resident is assigned a bed and the resident can stay at the property for 6 months. The table consists of BedID,ResidentID, bedname,Status(avaiable or occupied), startdate and enddate. Each resident is assigned an end date. Once their end date comes how do i automate the system that makes that resident no
longer active and their bed become available for me see automatically. Is there a way to do that?

Shouldn't the status be calculated based on whether a date exists?

Amina I don't know what your exit policy and procedure is but if it were me I would consider archiving the records rather than just blanking them. That way you will have a history for reporting, referral, etc. Check out the Don't Delete Data video to see what I'm talking about. If you don't need that kind of history Richard does walk you through re-setting the records after the archive.
