Login and Menus not working
Klaas van Eijkern

Hi all,

On my regular PC I am busy building in MS Access. The database and backup databases are currently still on MS OneDrive. So far so good.
Among other things, I have a Login, two menus, several tables and forms.

Now I open the same database, via MS OneDrive, on my Laptop and I can bypass the Login by clicking the Close Button and I can no longer open the menus.
Opening the tables and forms and editing them and entering data works fine.

How is it possible that the Login and Menus no longer work?

I'd love to hear from someone.
With greeting,
Klaas

Hi Klaas. First, I don't recommend running your database from OneDrive. Big problems can happen. Back it up to OneDrive, sure, but run the database from a folder that doesn't get touched by OneDrive. See this.

As far as why the behavior of your database has changed recently... I've got no clue. I don't know what you did. I don't know what steps you took to secure it. I see you haven't taken my Security Seminar, and I haven't looked at your database, so there's no way I can tell you what's going on with it.

That's like me saying to my mechanic... what's wrong with my car... on the phone... without telling him my engine is held together with duct tape. LOL

Hi Richard,

Thank you.
I understand what you mean. I attended the Security Seminar and will do so again.
It is also time for your recommendation for placing the Database Online.

With greeting,
Klaas

See that link above for my recommendations on putting your database online.
