Hi All,

I have a table to hold all my various settings (1) (As per Ricks "Helper Table" video) and have set up a form for the good people to add and remove settings. This is opened using a button with VBA to filter (See 1&2).

The config page can be seen on 3 & 4. The issue is, when adding entries, i need to be able to automate the type ID (Essentially "Insert" a typeID) (5) into an invisible textbox when the button is clicked.

I used default value on another one of my forms (6) but this form serves different combo's so that's a no-go. I know it's a line of VBA on the button....

Thank You

Dan go watch the Helper Data again.  Richard shows how to add the correct TypeID in the double Click event of the Combo Box.   ie prefix, suffix,  etc.

If you haven't done so yet also go watch that Value From a Form video I have referred you to before.
I know that you said previously, "you weren't at that point so far"  - Well now you are.

VBA is not that difficult.  Just take it one small step at a time.

Perfect, thanks Scott. Got it on the Ext Cut.

Agree 100%. Having done my first project, i have a greater appreciation for VBA. Oddly enough, this was to fix a bug in the final version. Now that the project is complete, i'm going to take a break and go back to the studies.
I'm fortunate that I was able to strike a deal in which i'll build these databases provided i'm allowed time to study. No Pressure

Think i'll go back to the start and go over. Might end up doing over several times but hey, time isn't an issue. I really appreciate all the help you guys have given and has definitely contributed to my learning. Thanks again.
