Access Just for fun
Alan Hill

Sometimes I do not want to think. I just want to play, especially when it's raining for days on end.
I decided to try and liven up my forms. They are functional but a bit plain.

I went to http://icons.mysitemyway.com/ where they have free icons
I dowloaded a heap of really snazzy icon navigation buttons.

With a graphics program Paint Shop Pro 8. I cannot afford Photoshop I painted the centre a different colour.
Exported the file as a .png. That was the original format.

Next I put them in a folder with my Database and created an image using one of my Icon Pictures.
I set the mousedown event on the ImageFrame to Image1.Picture = "NextDown.png" and set the mouseUp event
to Image1.Picture = NextUp.png
I used a timer of 1 second and went to the next record. The only problem was changing the .picture property made
all my buttons flicker. I did not like that at all.

So I copied both icons into their own ImageFrame put one directly under the other and with the click event
used the .visible property to hide the top one and reveal the bottom one with a 1 second timer delay

Works a treat.

Once you have a selection of icons it does not take long at all. So if you some time on your hands. You can liven
your boring forms easily. So do not use Command Buttons use ImageFrames instead, they have click events too.

Best wishes Alan Hill
