Make Hyperlink Query Specific

Hi, I have a report that gives a summary of data. For example, Total number of students enrolled.  It pulls from a query that counts the students enrolled after a start and end date range is entered.  The report looks and works great, but I'd like the ability to have the number displayed (based on whatever date range is entered) to pull up the detailed list of students when clicked. There is a list of 10 programs and that total would need to be specific only for that queried list.

Does this have to be done in VBA or is there an easier way to get what I'm looking for.

Thanks for your help.

Where will it show the detailed list?
Could have a sub report and base that on a query with the chosen filters.

Hi Alex,

My hope is that it would be a hyperlink on the number displayed, but I would also be fine with it as a sub report if that's easier. The main report is printed an used in our course catalog, so I would need to be sure that the details are separate.  Would I be better to create a totally separate detailed report?  Any suggestions are helpful. Thanks so much.

If it helps any, when using Excel pivot tables that display a total for a category, when the number is double clicked it opens the details of what makes up that number in a separate tab.  So I guess I was hoping to be able to do something similar.  I don't know if that's even possible, but I'm open to other options as well.

Create a query that gets the details you need based on your selection and use that as a basis for your form or report
Then have a button that opens it on your initial form.

Okay, I think that makes sense.  Thank you very much for your help.
