Creating ACCDE Failure
Ronald de Boer

Hi Richard Alex,

I have created a new MS Access Application which only has 4 Forms, 2 Queries, no reports or Modules.  Yes I do have some Macros that Open reports.  The system itself only has linked tables from 2 Backends.  Eight in Total.

What is new is a use a of Record Sets in this MS Access application which I have not done before.  In the creation and testing I occasionally forgot to Close and Set records Sets to Nothing.  My MainMenuF  runs 5 recordset programs and one of the other Forms runs 1..

As a ACCDB application the application works fine.  I just can't create a ACCDE File.  System keeps stating a limit of 2048Table ID's has been exceeded.

8 Linked Tables,  6 records sets minimal Forms 2 Queries what could possibly give me a "Exceeding 2048 Table ID's" Error Message.

Also although the applications runs fine, when developing I tried to create one recordset with Selection Criteria which I could not get to work.  Although syntactily correct when I ran the code I received Incorrect number of Parameter errors.

My workaround was to use a number of If Statements.  Yes I know not efficient but it works.  If I could figure out the issue of Parameter error and incorrect use of Controls I would change the code.

I tried filtering instead but received and again although syntacticly correct I received Improper use of Controls.

Any thoughts appreciated!

Regards

Ron de Boer

Every time I think I am getting a handle on this Access gives me another curve ball.

Have you done compact/repair and decompile for making the ACCDE?

If you want to share your recordset code that is having trouble we can take a look at it, not much we can do without that ;).

Sounds like C&R should resolve it. If not, run through troubleshooting - https://599cd.com/blog/display-article.asp?ID=1193

Happened to me three times now. Ran file sync to push an Accde out to all PC's to get error

"Unable to find Expression client" blah blah blah. C&R and Decompile/Recompile, then delete the ACCDE and re-save fixed it every time
