Storing a field from form

I have a Form 4frm_otherEvent that needs to generate a document ID into a field DOCID in Table 4tbl_otherEvent.

The Document ID is formed by =[EventPrefix] & Format([EvDate],"yyyymmdd") and works.

What I can not do is store that value into the table in the DOCID Field.

The easiest way would be to put the DOCID field onto the form, and then do DOCID=[EventPrefix] & Format([EvDate],"yyyymmdd") Either in the on current event or on a button press or however you want to do it, you can even hide the DOCID if you want to. Otherwise you're looking at needing to use a db.execute SQL statement to set table values, which is pointless when the form has the field already.
