Forms Now Noneditable
Kent Jamison

I've been normalizing my data as Mr. Rost teaches, splitting up similar data into separate tables.  I recently split out all my email addresses and phone numbers for my personnel into separate tables (EmailT and PhoneT, respectively).  I have up to seven phone numbers and 4 email addresses per employee.  However, now my data entry forms don't work after adding the new tables to the underlying queries. It appears this makes the queries too complex for Access to handle b/c I cannot add records or change/update data to existing records now.  (Records in my data entry forms are now not editable.)
Thoughts on how to manage this new conundrum?  Would adding subforms for my email addresses and phone numbers be a good remedy?  Or is there an easier fix?
I've tried to search the TechHelp archives and Access course index.  I'm not seeing an easy match.
Thoughts?  Helpful videos that I'm missing?

Are they not subforms?

In my data entry forms, under the old queries, I only had one main form because all my data was in one huge table, which I inherited from someone else.  I'm trying to normalize my data to make it more relational.  No subforms were added to my data entry forms.  I have subforms in other forms, but haven't needed them in my data entry forms as of yet.

Can you post some screen shots to show us what you've got and what's happening?

Two screenshots uploaded.  Query design shows the various tables I'm pulling from now.  I've tried adding a SubForm to the data entry form, but that doesn't seem to help. Now I cannot add phone numbers or emails (circled in red).  Also, no ability to add new records as the new record button (also circled in red) at the bottom of the window is grayed out.

Yeah, you're definitely going to want to put those in subforms. Each form (and subform) should be based on ONE and only one TABLE (preferably). See Normalizing Data.
