Current Date

I need help with this issue, I must have totally forgotten how to do this the right way. The thing is, it's working, I just can't remember to to trigger it. It just a what should be a very simple Current Date Texty Box on one forms. I have done this before, but obviously I have missed a step some where.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I will send 3 screen shots so you can see whats going on.
1=as the form loads
2=clicking where the text box should be
3=what should be displayed on load
Thank you for your consideration

If it's 'working', what is the problem? Is something not working the way you expect it to?

When you say 'trigger it', is there a specific event that should be run when the form loads?
Or
Is it a function in the Control Source for the Text Box?

When I say it's working, it only works after the form has loaded(of course) and I click under where is says Current Date, then it shows as the second sample shows, then when I click on one of fields, it shows as the third sample shows. I was supposed to show all the time the form is open.
This is from my checkbook register so I really don't ant to show more that I have. the Curent Time text box is working as it should,i did a timer interval of 1000 to show a ticking seconds clock and a small VBA code to trigger it to run, which works great.
[Clock] = Now

Thank you,
Dave

All you should need is =Date() in the Control Source for the Text Box.

David -
Since you already have Now() in the time you can also just widen out the field and display the date too using your Format Function.  Covered in Expert 27  and in the Format FastTip.

By default Date() only displays the current date at midnight, Now() displays the current Date and Time
