hi,
i linked my sqlserver to the front-end file, and then i tried to run a local query (not a pass-through) on a text field with a text criteria and it didn't return any record.
in a text field with numbers it worked without any problem.
what is the problem???

Did you enclose the criteria in quotes?

yes , i tried double quotes and even single qutoes. i have to mention that in a text field that contained numbers (postal code) the criteria worked without any problem, it just stucked with text.

Without actually seeing what you actually entered for your criteria we can't even begin to determine why it's not working. A screenshot of your query (in Design View) clearly showing the criteria might be helpful.
