Problem with chart object
Don Wright

Richard,
I was hoping you could point me in the right direction.
I'm using Access 2003.  I have a good working query that shows for each site (we have 5) how many patients were treated in a month, how many hours the personel worked, and a calculated field
to show how many patients were treated per hour: ([SumOfTotalHours]/SumOfTotlHoursWorked.
It works well.  I put parameters in the SiteName and StatDate fields so that a manager could choose the site of his choice, and a date range (eg 1/1/10 thru 6/1/10).
I had the bright idea to show the PtsPerHr graphically, in a line chart.  Here's the problem.  If I use a chart Object in a form, I can see PtsPerHr in columns, but not a line.  If I try to use a Pivot Chart, I get a "MS Jet Engine does not recognize..." in short, it doesn't work with parameters.
Is this something that can't be done, or have I missed something (probably right in front of my face).
Sorry to ramble for so long.
Thanks,
Don

Reply from Richard Rost:

Use the PivotChart wizard. The default is a column chart, but you can open up the properties and change the chart type to line or whatever else you want. As far as the error goes, can you tell me the EXACT error message. It's possible that the chart doesn't like your query with parameters in it. You might need to use a FORM to set your parameters, or use a parameter-less query (meaning you'll have to gather the data with a make-table query or some such method).
