Code to Select Backend Copy

The free database asked me to select the backend copy as soon as it opens.  The note above said " As soon as it loads, it will prompt you to specify the location for the back-end file".  Will you please share the code which has it request the location, or tell me which lesson it is that I need to purchase to get the code?

We can't share code for the ABCD. You would need to purchase the videos.

This Tech Help shows how to Relink Tables.

FYI -
I deleted duplicate post.

Kevin is correct.  It wouldn't be fair to those that purchased the ABCD to just post the code.  I honestly don't remember which video that was covered in for the ABDC but you have to have 1 to get 2.  1 & 2 to get 3. Etc.

Thanks Kevin for the link to the "Relink  Tables".

Scott, According to the extended video, it is Developer 33, Lesson 3 for databases that have more than one backend database.

And...
I guess I don't understand the issue.  Are you using more than one BE?

If so you just need to link the appropriate tables to the appropriate BE db. Unless you are moving your folders around tons, you can always re-link manually. Then distribute the new front end.

You are making great progress and I really encourage you to keep going.  Honestly once you finish the Expert you could probably forego Advanced and start in on the Developer.  There was some great theory in the advanced but you really get in to the nuts and bolts of Access in the Dev. videos.  (I understand budget all to well.  Just do as you can.)

Thank you Scott. I do have more than one BE.  I'm retired and am just learning because I LOVE access.  I was the supervisor of Inmate Records, and had built a detailed database for tracking new time, paroles, discharges, new time, etc. but I never learned VBA, and now that I'm retired I have the time to learn it. Thanks for the tip on how to get the other backend forms to link, and for the compliment and encouragement. Wish I had found about y'all years ago before I retired. I keep thinking of all the improvements I could have made on my work database!
