I'm trying to work through a grouping example from Tech Republic and they had me building a report in the Northwind database.
I was building a report based on the Orders table.  The table had a field for Customer, which had the Full name of each customer.  Here is the interesting part: when I opened the report in design view, the field list showed a CustomerID field, but no Customer field.  I thought I picked the wrong table.  I re-checked and I was right.  I placed the CustomerID field on the report and it showed up as a combo box!!  Not a textbox.  When I viewed the report, the customer's full namewas there!!
So what was this phenomenom Richard?  I don't remember ever seeing this. Thanks,

You will find this behavior sometimes if you have global relationships set up between your tables. I plan to cover this in an upcoming lesson.
