I finally fixed this issue today. Using labels as you suggested surely works. I have no doubt about that. But for purposes of consistency,..there are other listboxes in the database... i somehow had to use column heads. Apart from that, this particular listbox is a dyanmic container...sometimes i populate it with patients and sometimes with treatment supporters depending on what the user wants to see (read different fields).

So what did i do? I removed the field captions at table level. It seems when you have a field caption at table level, you can not dynamically change it using VBA. It's quite strange. Or perhaps it is my computer but probably not.

You should be able to use ALIASes in the SQL for the list box's rowsource. For example:

SELECT FirstName AS [First Name], QtyOnHld as [Quantity On Hold] FROM WhateverT

That should use the ALIAS names as the column headers in your list box. Funny, because I'm covering the topic of ALIASes right now in the SQL 2 seminar. :)
