Richard, okay, this is driving me crazy!  I want to be able to use a variable to store the filename and put it in at run time.  I call the filename "fname".  If the filename does not have spaces in it, then this syntax works:  Shell "cmd /c " & fname & "", vbHide.  But I have tried every which way to figure out how to write this for filenames with spaces in them and can't get it.  HELP!

This will substitute to:

SHELL "cmd /c ""C:\My Filename.txt""", vbHide
