DotDotDot

I have a ShortText Field in a table and the value of one of the records contains "..." in the text.  After typing it in, it appears Access is converting it to a single character and not three individual dots.  So, when I run a replace function against that text field in a Query Replace([FieldName],".",""), it doesn't replace any of the dots because it sees them all as a single character.  Trying to run a Replace[FieldName],"...","") doesn't do it either.

Bryan the action you are seeing is because you have your auto correct turned on in your settings.
File > Options > Proofing

Access is converting the "..." to an ellipsis character, Asc(133)

If it truly is only one just edit the field and delete the ellipsis then retype the ... a small warning button should appear when you type a space after the ...

That did it.  I knew it was getting converted, but for some stupid reason, it never occurred to me that the warning button would appear in access even though I use it constantly in Word and Excel.  Major Brain Fart!
