Thank you for your help. My goal is pretty simple. I am trying to make a daily log for my field inspectors activities. They will be doing entries from laptop's in the field. A sequential log entry form. It also gives them a visual summary of their activities as the day progresses and a helpful entry for the daily report compiled at the end of the day. After the daily field acitivities, the laptops are plugged in to the LAN and the main table updated by inspector ID. Sheer data wise, the sequence number is pretty benign, but for these old firemen that are used to their paper log, it means a lot (they don't like computers anyway).   I have a date/time stamp in another field but it does not give the visual 1,2,3 etc sequence that is needed. At this point, I have tried event code, modules, macros, and combinations. I just believe that it is all too simple somehow and there is something that I just don't understand. Hope you guys can help. If there is some other information that I need to provide, I will give it. Thank you very much!
