Error Help Please

I have been working on my database without issue for days.  All of a sudden today, I tried to copy a table from another database to get structure only...but it won't paste into this database.  I keep getting a message:  the database has been placed in a state by user 'admin' on machine 'andreaspc' that prevents it from being opened or locked.

I have no idea what this is about or how to make it go back to the way it was.  I have been copying several tables from another database into this one without problems until now.

Please help if you can.

Nevermind, it somehow fixed itself....I have no idea what happened.  Thank you for your time.

Most of the time this is caused by a db not being closed properly leaving the lock file (the .laccdb open).

Access is pretty good about cleaning up  after itself but once in a while it  happens.  Usually after a crash or unexpected shutdown.

The routine I use is open the db and shut it down normally.  Then do a restart (not just shut down) on your computer.  That will usually take care of the .laccdb file.

If you are the only one in the db you are pretty safe to delete that file if it gets stuck.

It goes with out saying, but make sure you are making good back ups before deleting anything or making changes to your database.
