hide navigation pane

I created a button to hide the navigation pane with vba

DoCmd.NavigateTo("acNavigationCategoryObjectType")
DoCmd.RunCommand(acCmdWindowHide)

But it doesn't work , why ??

Hi John, Personally, I just use the the option in settings "Show Navigation Pane" and then just use Shift key when opening the database for development. Otherwise, try this `'select the navigation pange Call DoCmd.NavigateTo("acNavigationCategoryObjectType") 'hide the selected object Call DoCmd.RunCommand(acCmdWindowHide)`

According to the example given in the Code Vault Navigation Pane Minimize Restore You don't want it in ( ) Try that one instead.

I jus tried both with and without parenthesis and it worked both ways. Did it from the Immediate Window.
