Inconsistent State Error
Debra Triolo

My new database I created has been working great, so far. Until two days ago when it started throwing up an error stating the database was in an inconsistent state and would attempt to make a backup etc.  It would lock anyone who was not in there out. Anyone in there would be unaffected. I have a small handful of users working in it (5 people) not all simultaneously, but sometimes there are two or three users in there at once. When it happens I usually kick everyone out- repair and it works great until the next morning.  The only thing I do is at night I go in and backup the DB manually and compact and repair... I am unsure what is triggering this to occur.  The DB is housed on a shared folder and most users access it via citrix. Any advice is appreciated.

Is it a split Db?

No, it is not a split Db.  It is in a shared folder though on the network.  I did read something about there being an inherent issues with Windows 10 and Access that causes this issue- and there is a possible workaround that requires you to edit the registry.  However, since our Db is apparently the only one that anyone in the company has used that is having this issue, IT is balking at assisting us to attempt this workaround.  I read that even if I split the Db, it will not resolve this issue, if it is the same bug.

I trend I have noticed since this started happening a few days ago is I think some of the users are entering the Db and then leaving their computers for long stretches - leaving access in limbo - without exiting the Db.  It seems to be the same two users in there every morning who are known to do this and later when the other team members go to enter the Db is when they encounter the error and it crashes. I am unsure if the events are connected.

Has anyone else experienced this? I also tried to create a new DB and import all the files, as suggested  on some sites.  Supposedly if there was an unstable object it would not import correctly.  All the objects imported just fine.  I am waiting to see if it crashes again this morning. If anyone has any other suggestions...please feel free to post...
