Sub Form Recordset Problem
Horace Conti

Hello, I have a Subform allowing ADDITIONS to its continuous form structure, however when I add a "SUMTOTAL" field from another Table/Query to the Query my Sub Form gets its data from I lose the ability to add records to the sub form now. The "Property Sheet Allow Additions" is set to "YES".  I think that I have a "RECORDSET problem of some kind, but have no idea how to fix it or how to get to the RECORDSET can anybody help? Thank you in advance. Horace Conti

Hello Kevin and thank you for your reply.  I reviewed the FORM TOTALS lesson you sent, but that's not my problem as I am getting my "SumTotals" to appear on my Sub-Form with no problem.  I'm creating this "SumTotal" Using two queries to single out the "SumTotal" for just One Customer from several customers and that works just fine.  I get the "SumTotal" for just that one customer appearing on the Sub-Form.  (1) My problem is, placing the "SumTotal" field on the Sub-Form Stops Additions of parts to that CONTINUOUS SUB-FORM.  i've tried many different table and Query joins, but been unsuccessful getting the "Allow Additions to work once the "SumTotal" field is added to the Query that the Sub-Form gets its data from.  I'm hearing that "SumTotals" from a Query cause the Query to NEVER be updatable messing up the Sub-Form, is this true?  Is there a way for me to show the "SumTotal" of this persons record every time I bring it up without having to leave this persons screen to see it?  Somehow using a Query's "SumTotal" in another Query used by the Sub-Form, screws up the Subforms Recordset to not allowing "Additions" even though I have that set to "YES"  Thank you in advance for your help.  Horace Conti
