Mike you can leave the navigation buttons on or turn them off either way for the subform.  Typically you turn them off to prevent confusion.  What ever you prefer, either way works.

Regarding naming the subform, again that is subjective.  You could call it George and it wouldn't matter to Access.
As you move forward, you will develop your own style and if it helps you to name something XXXSubF, by all means, go for it.  If it helps you to differentiate that that form is meant to be a subform there is not a right or wrong here.  The big thing is, in your style, be and remain consistent.
