I don't remember why but Rick doesn't recommend doing it. (Maybe just personal preference?)

That being said in the properties for the combo box under the Format Tab choose the Column Heads and change it to yes.
What ever your field name is is what is displayed.  
If it doesn't display they way you want it you could Alias the name in a query and make it display differently.

Yes, normally I would have listened to Rich's preference, My combo box is formatted by customer ID and because each customer has multiple locations I need to display additional information in the drop down on the combo box, and there are 8 fields I need to display in order to make sure I am selecting the correct on. So I need to see the labels.
