Upgrade to 365 Access
John S

Does anyone have an opinion about upgrading to the newest 365 version of Access? Any big advantages?

I'm currently using the MS Office Professional Plus version of Access (Version 2302 Build 16.0.16130.20332) 32-bit, with Windows 10.

I'm using Access for a pretty complex personal project, with a good deal of use of VBA.

Thanks for any advice. --John

Unless you bought it outright, you should be on the latest version.  The subscription based service is the way to go!

Yes, I did buy outright the 2019 Pro Plus version of MS Office. It still provides the security updates for the 2019 Access, but I'm wondering about functional improvements to the software since then.

Thanks, Scott, for your reply.

As Richard explains in the QQ, the subscription vs the cost out weighs the one time cost (by a lot).  Program wise not much has changed. See that link above and check out your options.

MS 365 subscription lets you install Office on 5 devices (PC or mobile), whereas the standalone version of Office can only be used on one PC.  If you have a family or multiple users in your business, the 365 sub is a good deal.  The 365 sub also gives you 1 terabytes of online storage for backing up your data.  Whether you need that much online storage would be another deciding factor.  I do, and I use multiple devices, so the 365 sub is a good deal to me.

Here is a comparison of 365 vs. standalone from Microsoft:

Thanks. I went ahead with the subscription.
