Aligning tables
Kim Mittet

Hi

I need a solution for the following - if possibly by the use of queries.
A have at table A for where i add new records and then i have a table B i wish to update with part of the newly added records.

Table A :
1. Field AA is the ID/autonumber field
2. 8 fields for which i want to duplicate the 3 fields to table B

Table B :
1. Field AA is a number field and must hold the autonumber from table A
2. The 3 remaining field is the same type as table A

The 4 fields which is similar in both table are the "key" but the remaining fields in each table is different.

When a record have been added in table A, i want a job/query to run which finds the difference records between table A and table B and then run another query that add the difference record to table B.
The compare and align queries must be initiated automatically when the form where the records are added is closed or if it is possible when the record is saved.

Sorry it took me so long to see this. If you still need help, let me know. If you could rewrite this and make it a real-world example, that would be easier than dealing with Table A and Field AA. If you could relate it to maybe customers and contacts, that would make it much easier for me to wrap my brain around it.

Thank you for your comment. I found a "not so clever solution", but now i have come to your courses in VBA, so i will look in that direction when moving forward in the VBA classes.
