I am looking for a way to attach a pdf file to my access database. Everything that i have read says i should not attach it to the datbase but rather associate a path name to the object in another drive, keeping it out of the database. Can anybody help?

I agree. Attaching objects to databases is a great way to make your database get VERY large and VERY slow. Unless you use an external (attached) table that's just for your attachments, I would recommend just storing a reference to the path/filename of your PDF file.
