I think all my computers are 64 bit, not 32 bit.  As I mentioned last time, I have a database and some of my forms have search controls.  when I start to type the name of something that should be in the form, you can start typing and the names that begin with that letter pop up.  However, once i get past a certain letter, like "I", the name does not show up in the search window,, but if i type the whole name, it will pull that record up.  This is a problem on my Windows 11 computer, but not on either of my windows 10 computers.  Does anyone have an idea what I can do to fix this, short of only using the database on my windows 10 computers.

Carolyn are you running the db as an independent copy on each of the computers, or are both computers accessing the same data?  (Networked?)

To find out for sure what versions of Access you are running on each machine go to:
File >  Account.  Click on the About Access button.  Right up at the top will tell you about your installation.
See screen shot below.

If you are trying to use the db at the same time from both computers, it really should be from a Split  Database AND both computers should be running the same bitness.
Either 32 or 64. Not one 32 and one 64.

See 64-Bit Access for additional info.

IF i have the program open on both computers, they are using the same database, and it is located on the One Drive.  But I rarely have it open on both computers.  Both computers are using Microsoft Office Professional 2021,  and both are 64 bit.  I  can try splitting the database, but I dont think that is the problem

i just split the database and i am having the same issue on the windows 11 machine as I had before, but not on the windows 10 machine.  I have tried the database on an older laptop that i have withe windows 10 and i did not have the problem.  I just ordered a new windows 10 laptop that I should be getting tomorrow and I will see what happens with that one.

In the meantime is you have any other ideas, your help would be grealy appreciated

Carolyn I will put money down on it being the case of you having it on One Drive.  There are numerous posts here why you shouldn't use that or Google Drive other than as a back up.

You should NEVER put a live working db that you want to  not have problems with.  Yeah it might work before -- until it doesn't.

Directly from Microsoft:

Warning:    Although you can save an Access database file to OneDrive or a SharePoint document library, we recommend that you avoid opening an Access database from these locations. The file may be downloaded locally for editing and then uploaded again once you save your changes to SharePoint. If more than one person opens the Access database from SharePoint, multiple copies of the database may get created and some unexpected behaviors may occur. This recommendation applies to all types of Access files including a single database, a split database, and the .accdb, .accdc, .accde, and .accdr file formats.
