Each job that we have in the shop has engineering time, fabrication time, machine run time and labor hours.  I do not have a table that records these hours yet.  Generally these hours are recorded in an employee table and are linked to the job with the job number (like in Job Boss).  I want to do something like this with our labor hours.  Right now we are just manually typing them into an Excel spreadsheet.

OK, then I would make a JobCostT table that has the following fields:

JobCostID - autonumber
EmployeeID - foreign key, linked to Employee table
JobID - foreign key, linked to the Job table
LaborTypeID - foreign key, linked to a Labor Type table (eng, fab, machine, labor)
JobHours - a number (double) representing how many hours for this item

You can set up a form for this. Pick a job, pick an employee, pick a labor type, and type in the hours.
