Sort foreign names

Having issues dealing with sorting and searching foreign names because of their unique spelling. Names such as lex Palou
Adrin Fernndez, Hlio Castroneves. What is the best way to handle this?

James are you using an accented character set? See photo below. Even this forum won't allow them. That is notoriously difficult to sort properly. There are a number of articles on the web describing modifying and converting to ASCII etc. None of which seems like an easy fix. The only real solution I could see is to use a 'standard' character set for data.

You could just make your own sort table too and number the order you want them to come in :P. FirstLetter: Left(NameField,1) FindSortSpot: DLOOKUP("SortRank","SortT","SortLetter=" & FirstLetter) Then order on that numerical field. You could do the same for the second letter, third letter etc, but at a point that's more work than worth lol
